If you know me, I have a heart for the non profit. Many of this stems from a family that I am so blessed to be a part of who has shown me what matters in life. Of course, I am speaking about my wife and daughter.
When my daughter was just 6, she had $30 to spend on whatever she wanted. But what she asked for was the World Vision catalog. Not sure about you, but I vaguely remember what it was like to be 6 and if I had $30… it would be all about candy or baseball cards.
As my daughter looked at each page closely in the World Vision catalog, she saw all kinds of opportunities to give. You could buy a goat, chicks, meals, etc to help people on the other side of the world.
What did she choose?
She wanted to spend her $30 on helping young boys and girls who had been rescued out of being trafficked.
As an only child, we asked her why she chose that? Her response… because these are the brothers and sisters I never had and I need to take care of them.
She then went on to raise several thousand dollars for the cause.
That was 8 years ago. And now… here I am writing this post asking you to consider a couple organizations I will post below, but also other organizations you will see posted on the side of this website page.
What I have learned from my wife and daughter is this..
A life void of service for one’s neighbor, is a life in need of transformation. And, it is because of their service, love, and actions for their neighbors both locally and globally that has led me to a place of my own transformation.
After all these years, giving is better than receiving.
But who shall we give to? Who can we trust? Who is getting it done?
Here is one for starters… Find other GREAT organizations in the left column of this website.
