Building communities around topics, not titles…

While on a recent trip around the world to teach my social media workshop, I found myself teaching a class in Nairobi, Kenya when one of the students raised their hand to ask a question as well as make a statement…

“I have a selfish reason to want to learn how to use social media. I want to use social media to sell my book about marriage. How do I do that?” asked Bishop Bob Kabugi.

My response was simple.

“You can do that by not using social media to sell your book about marriage, but rather using social media because you want to see people have stronger marriages.”
