thlbpThe Happy Little Big Pig

Another story from my daughter and me…two days in a row she has come to me wanting to write a story. So, she gives me the opening lines and we take it from there. Again, here is about 40 minutes worth of storytelling. Have fun…

There once was a little pig who ate corn at every meal. He grew up into a very happy big pig. One day, the happy little big pig who ate corn at every meal decided he was tired of corn and wanted to eat something different. But, what would it be?

So, the happy little big pig began his journey to find something different to eat.

“What’s that over there?” thought the happy little big pig. “It sure looks yummy. I think I will try a bite.”

“Hey, wait a minute little big pig…that’s my hay! Get your own food!” said the horse to the little big pig.

Feeling scared and dejected…the little big pig left the hay alone. “But, I’m still hungry for something different.” thought the little big pig. “But, what will I eat?”

So, the now scared and dejected little big pig continued on his journey to find something different to eat.

“What’s that over there?” thought the scared and dejected little big pig. “It sure looks yummy. I think I will try a bite.”

“What are you doing little big pig? Don’t be eating my peanuts! Now…get your own food!” said the elephant to the little big pig.

Feeling small, scared, and dejected…the little big pig left the peanuts alone. “But, I’m still hungry for something different.” thought the little big pig. “But, what will I eat?”

So, the now feeling small, scared, and dejected little big pig continued on his journey to find something different to eat.

“What’s that over there?” Again thought the now feeling small, scared, and dejected little big pig. “It sure looks yummy. I think I will try a bite.”

“What are you doing little big pig? Get your hooves off my bananas! Get your own food!” said the monkey to the little big pig.

Feeling small, scared, dejected, and super-duper really hungry…the little big pig left the bananas alone. “But, I’m still hungry for something different.” thought the little big pig. “But, what will I eat?”

So, the now feeling small, scared, dejected, and super-duper really hungry little big pig continued on his journey to find something different to eat.

“What’s that over there?” again thought the now feeling small, scared, dejected, and super-duper really hungry little big pig. “It sure looks yummy. I think I will try a bite.”

“Hey there, what are you doing? Get your snout out of my mac and cheese!” said the mouse to the little big pig.

Now…Feeling small, scared, dejected, super-duper really hungry, and back to big…the little big pig left the mac and cheese alone. “But, I’m still hungry and there is nothing else to eat. And…all the other animals are mad at me!” thought the little big pig.

“I guess corn isn’t that bad after all. It sure beats nothing.” said the little big pig.

So the feeling small, scared, dejected, super-duper really hungry, and back to big little big pig went back home and ate his corn.

“Hey, this is not bad!” thought the little big pig to himself. “I think I’ll have some more…and some more…and some more!”

And now the once feeling small, scared, dejected, super-duper really hungry, and back to big little big pig was feeling happy again.

“I’ll never get tired of corn again.” said the now happy little big pig. “But I feel so bad trying to eat all my friends food without asking them. I better say I’m sorry.”

So, the happy little big pig went around to all his friends and said he was sorry. And when the happy little big pig got home, there was a special surprise waiting for him…

The horse, the elephant, the monkey, and the mouse had made a special meal just for the happy little big pig.

“Surprise!” yelled the horse, the elephant, the monkey, and the mouse. And there it was…right there on the table… it was a giant bowl filled with hay and peanuts and bananas and mac and cheese.

“Wow! This looks great!” said the happy little big pig. “But it sure looks like it could use some corn!” he added.

So, the horse, the elephant, the monkey, the mouse, and the happy little big pig put in some corn and began to eat and a great time was had by all for the happy little big pig who was once feeling small, scared, dejected, super-duper really hungry, and back to big was now happy again.

And as the happy little big pig went to bed that night, he said a prayer…

“Dear God, I’m sorry I wasn’t very nice to my friends. Please be with the horse, the elephant, the monkey, and the mouse. And thank you for giving me food to eat too. Corn will be just perfect. And, one last thing…thank you for being my true happiness. I love you. Amen”

With that…the moon now filled the night sky and the happy little big pig went to bed. “Nighty night happy little big pig.” said the horse, the elephant, the monkey, and the mouse…”Nighty night!” said the happy little big pig.

The End.
